What is Bakuchiol?

Bakuchiol is a plant-derived, retinol-like active extracted from the Psoralea corylifolia (Babchi) plant. It is widely recognised as a gentler alternative to retinol, offering many of the visible skin benefits traditionally associated with retinoids—without the common drawbacks.

Clinical studies have shown that Bakuchiol can deliver improvements in the appearance of fine lines, skin texture, and hyperpigmentation, comparable to retinol, while being significantly better tolerated. Unlike retinol, Bakuchiol is non-photosensitising, making it suitable for both morning and evening use.
