Peppermint Essential Oil
Use 6-12 drops in a diffuser
Add 2-5% to hair oil
Dab on to wrist, temples, behind ears, back of neck, feet etc.
Add 1-2% to body oil
Take a whiff from the bottle
Add a few drops to bath water
Add 20-40 drops to 100ml rubbing alcohol
Add 1-2 drops in a cup of water and gargle
Mentha piperita, commonly known as Peppermint, is an aromatic perennial herb from the Mint or Lamiaceae family and is the most popular species among over 20 species of the genus Mentha. With a very familiar, recognizable, and nostalgic aroma, Peppermint Essential Oil is the oldest and the most versatile essential oils known to us. Though native to the Middle East and Europe regions, it thrives well in the India, USA, Japan, Italy, and Great Britain. Greek legend has that the nymph ‘Mentha’ infuriated Goddess Persephone so much that as punishment, she transformed 'Mentha' into the sweet-smelling plant that released a strong, lingering aroma every time she was touched. Aristotle believed Peppermint was a natural aphrodisiac and was forbidden to be consumed by Alexander the Great's army for fear that it may distracting the army men.
